Standard Plans:
#37, Lawrence Skiff: 18'-4" Pulling Boat:
Based on the traditional guide boats of
the St. Lawrence River / Thousand Islands.
#47, 18’-6” Transom-sterned Pulling Boat:
Similar to Lawrence Skiff underwater,
but with a transom stern above for
added copacity and stability.
#55, 15’ Peapod:
A very well-behaved and versatile
light weight rowing boat.
#53, 22’ Cruising Pulling Boat:
Four (4) sets of oarlocks,
Standing/dipping Lug hybrid rig
for downwind, cruising capacity
for three persons and gear.
#33, 17'-6” Power Garvey:
Available as plans, or as
fiberglass bare hull (up to 21 feet).
Very maeuverable, seaworthy and
fuel-efficient.
12’ Mackerel Cove Marauder:
A cat-rigged planing sailing dinghy.
Under 100 pounds, mahogany
plywood/foam/fiberglass composite
built stitch and glue or
over bulkheads.
A number of my designs make use of
strip planking with glued-laminated
frames. While the
fiberglass/strip/fiberglass approach
makes for a clean interior, it
requires thicker planking or heavy
fiberglass to be structurally
effective for severe service, or
larger sizes. Use of frames will
produce the lightest boat for a
given strength.
